John Burger

When I think of John Berger I think of burgers from cows. He talks about some pretty interesting ideas in “Why look at animals?” He goes into the primitive aspect of animal and human relationship. When I think of an animal, I think of cat videos on the internet and people's dog on social media. “With their parallel lives, animals offer man a companionship which is different from any offered by human exchange. Different because it is a companionship offered to the loneliness of man as a species.” This quote made me realize that the relationship between us and animals has drastically changed even though we are animals as well. They comfort us and see us as friends. In the past during the hunter and gatherers era humans would instantly see animals as food but now there are vegans who view every animal as friends not food.
